It really seemed a lot funnier in my head.
I was about halfway through finishing it by the time I realized it wasn’t really that funny, and by that time I decided “Eh, might as well finish it anyways so I have something to upload this weekend.”
Context: I’ve been taking art classes recently and yesterday we went outside to sketch people with paint. I already have enough problems when it comes to using traditional paint, but to have to basically do everything you do while drawing (measuring proportions, getting the movement of a person right, etc) and the having to determine value and color on top is basically my personal art hell. Especially when the people you’re painting decide to get up and do something else, or switch poses, and you end up having a bunch of unfinished paint blobs and 5 metric tons of wasted acrylics. Not to mention it was windy and my wet paintings would continuously fly into my face.
I think I need to work on comics and visual storytelling a lot more (Or at least funny comics. I think a more serious story would be easier to do, but being able to churn out funny little comic strips like you’d find in a newspaper would be cool and a more interesting way to do weekly updates than just plain pictures), since it’s something I’m not that good at yet and still something I’d like to be able to do.
Tomorrow I’ll be in Paris again to visit my parents for a few days, so I should be able to get back into my comfort zone of sketching (With a pencil, thank God) fancy architecture. :3
